Climate change amplifies environmental factors' impact on health, particularly for travelers. Seasonal pollen spikes, fluctuating air quality, and exposure to unfamiliar allergens create significant challenges, especially for those with severe sensitivities.

Now, the future of healthcare development lies in harnessing environmental data to improve patient outcomes, and Ambee is leading this transformation. We’ve partnered with many industry leaders, including Fortune 500 companies, to deploy solutions that leverage environmental intelligence for better health management. By combining real-time data with cutting-edge technology, we’ve been able to create better health outcomes and a tangible impact on people’s lives.

A notable example is our 2024 collaboration with Sanofi to launch the award-winning Allegra Airways. The world’s first and only navigation tool designed specifically for allergy sufferers, Allegra Airways helps users identify the cleanest routes, minimizing exposure to pollen and air pollution.

Building on this success, we’re thrilled to see the launch of Allevia Passport—a groundbreaking tool that empowers travelers to visualize pollen and air quality forecasts for any destination around the world, allowing them to plan trips with confidence, no matter where they go.

What is Allevia Passport?

In collaboration with Opella, we are proud to introduce the Allevia Passport, a first-of-its-kind tool designed for travelers. Using Ambee’s data, the Allevia Passport visualizes any destination's pollen and air quality forecast for more than a week. Users can confidently plan their trips and avail themselves of exclusive benefits, such as discounts on medications, based on the allergy risks at their destinations.

According to Nick Linton, UK GM at Opella:

“At Opella, our mission is clear—‘Health. In your hands’—by making self-care as simple as it should be. For those living with allergies, we worked in partnership with Ambee to develop a powerful new forecasting tool that will enable people to plan their holidays without letting allergies get in their way. Our new Passport provides accurate forecasts of allergens (for both pollen and air quality) in every country around the world.”

Ambee’s data goes even further by offering a detailed, species-specific breakdown of pollen and air quality parameters. This gives users a comprehensive view of the environmental risks at their destinations.

How our data works

The backbone of Allevia Passport lies in Ambee’s highly accurate, hyperlocal pollen and air quality APIs. These APIs provide real-time and long-term forecasts, offering granular data to help users anticipate and manage health risks effectively.

Our technology is powered by advanced sensors, machine learning algorithms, and geospatial techniques, ensuring our data is reliable, actionable, and precise. Accuracy is critical when health is at stake, which is why our datasets undergo rigorous testing and adhere to the highest global standards.

Chandrashekar D, Director of Engineering at Ambee, explains:

“Ambee’s hyperlocal environmental intelligence brings unmatched accuracy to even the smallest destinations, including remote islands and offbeat locations. Our long-term forecasts and historical insights empower this app to provide travelers with detailed air quality and pollen level updates tailored to their exact destination and travel date. It’s a game-changer for users, combining precision data with actionable insights and enabling businesses to deliver personalized value while keeping their customers informed and prepared.”
